Global Markets remain steady but are showing slight signs of distress amidst ongoing fears around the development of the Coronavirus worldwide - with tech giant Apple even telling shareholders that it’s revenues would likely be affected by the escalation. In more focused fintech news - the consolidation craze is not showing any signs of a slowdown as LendingClub announced its intended purchase of Radius Bank for 185 Million USD - the purchase being the first deal of its kind involving a regulated US Bank. Despite big figures coming out of the funding and investment spaces, with SoftBank pumping 100 Million USD into AI Startup Behavox and players like Ramp closing funding rounds with an additional 40 Million USD in their pockets - overall investments in fintech for 2019 are 4% lower than the year before - although still an impressive 16 billion Euro, leading some to believe the industry could be close to it’s tipping point.
